WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 11, 2012) ? PRWeek announced today that Vanguard Communications ? a Hispanic woman-owned, full-service public relations and social marketing firm based in Washington, D.C. ? is one of five ?Small PR Agency of the Year? finalists for the 2013 PRWeek Awards.
?It?s great to see our passion for social change recognized by our colleagues in the PR industry,? said Vanguard President Maria Rodriguez. ?It?s clear that the PRWeek judges saw what I see every day: a group of energetic, talented communicators who work together to help people and the environment we live in.?
The PRWeek Award nomination caps off a stellar year for Vanguard, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in March of this year. The firm also released its first Purple Paper? ? a guide to help communicators measure their social change efforts.
The PRWeek Awards represent the highest accolade in the PR industry, presented each year to the best corporate, nonprofit, agency and education teams and the work they produce. Each year, around 1,000 applications are submitted to 35 award categories honoring PR?s best campaigns, techniques, personalities, academic curricula and agency teams. The winners are selected by a group of esteemed judges from the communications industry, representing leading in-house corporate communications teams, agencies, PR professors, service companies and nonprofits.
Winners in each category will be announced at the PRWeek Awards dinner and presentation on March 7, 2013, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. To see a complete list of the 2013 PRWeek Awards finalists, visit www.prweekus.com/prweek-awards-finalists-2013/article/272091/.
Vanguard was previously named the PRWeek Agency of the Year in 2003, and was a finalist for the PRWeek Nonprofit Campaign of the Year in 2006 for the firm?s ?Road to the White House Kitchen? campaign on behalf of Women Chefs and Restaurateurs.
